THE ACADEMY

The only training program of its kind in Canada, the Academy is a part-time, fully- scholarshipped program for D/disability-identified artists focused on exploring the creation of compelling performance. Centred on the principle that every body and every mind is uniquely creative, the Academy is open to anyone identifying as living with visible or invisible D/disability and is working towards acquiring the skills and knowledge necessary to sustain an entrepreneurial performance practice at a professional level. Graduates will possess a strong foundation on which to build a thriving career in the arts.

Following the success of its inaugural 2021-2024 cohort, The Academy spent 2024-2025 reviewing its curriculum and conducting an intake process for a new group of participants. The second cohort began in September 2025, and will complete in June 2027.
