The Playwriting Circle brings together a national cohort of beginning and emerging playwrights (or writers who would like to transition into playwriting) who identify with D/disability. Selected participants engage in a ten-week workshop process, receiving mentorship from established playwrights and receiving peer support and feedback. This process culminates in a public presentation of an excerpt from each playwright’s work.
As part of our 20th Anniversary Season Launch in 2023, we announced the creation of the James Brown Memorial Creativity Fund. James was an integral part of our community productions, including Comedy on Wheels, Wheels Voices Power Play, and Wheel Voices: Tune In. He passed away in April 2022, and this fund was made in his honour in 2023 thanks to the generosity of the Brown family.
